Flying in the Air Cadets

Flying & Giding

Flying is our core activity. Our cadets can fly in a variety of aircraft through different opportunity schemes. Our main flying activities are conducted in the RAF's Grob Tutor or in one of the Air Cadet's fleet of glider aircraft.

For cadets who attend one of our annual camps there is often the opportunity fly in the aircraft based at that station. Cadets in Thames Valley have flown in Hawks, Chinooks, Gazelles, Tristars, Hercules, Pumas and Galaxy aircraft to mention but a few.

For those cadets who are interested in a career in aviation or just want to develop their flying skills there is also a variety of training and scholarships available.
